RECENT AWARDS: . GOLD MEDAL INTERNATIONAL WINE COMPETITION IN MILAN. Wine Review Online Magazine Notes: “Berceo Gran Reserva “Gonzalo de Berceo” 2001: Made from 80% Tempranillo with the balance comprised of Graciano and Mazuelo, this shows lots of muscle, but is still very tastefully wrought. Ripe and sweet and wearing its oak in a very classy way, it is not very flashy, but is exceptionally well integrated. Muscular and long, is still as years of positive development ahead of it, which is very impressive. 91”

Llicorella Vins
2005 Gran Nasard Priorat
LLicorella Vins SL is a family business producing wines of the D.O.Q. Priorat. For a long time the family was selling their grapes to other wine producers and at the beginning of this new century they started to produce their own wines. The cellar is located in the Farré House in the village of Torroja del Priorat. The family is composed by the Arnal brothers: Mr. Guillem Arnal is the vine grower, Mr. Eduard Arnal in the administration and Ms. M≤nica Cambra is the wine maker. Llicorella Vins, S.L. produces estate wines and the main estate is MAS SAURA which is 66 years old vineyard and located near the village of Porrera, near to Torroja del Priorat. This vineyard has a total of 20 hectares but only 8,5 hectares are cultivated. The vineyards are above 350 meters sea level and soils are composed by llicorella, a typical slate of the D.O.Q. Priorat. The grape varieties cultivated in the estate MAS SAURA are Grenache (5 hectares), Cabernet Sauvignon (2 hectares), Carignan (1 hectare) and Syrah (0,5 hectares). The vineyard begins to bloom in the middle of March and after some rain in spring and a hot and dry summer, the grapes are picked in midSeptember. The first grapes picked are the Syrah, then the Cabernet Sauvignon, then the Grenache and finally the Carignan. The production is done following traditional methods but the latest control technologies to get a great wine, everything managed by Ms. M≤nica Cambra. Wines produced by Llicorella Vins, S.l. are: MAS SAURA (4.000 bottles) and GRAN NASARD (4.000 bottles). Tasting Notes Intense coloring. Dark red color. Intense nose. Very ripe fruit dominates, jam-like. In the background emerge the subdued toasted avours of oak with suggestions of minerals. Once the wine has been in the glass for a short time it becomes fresher, the toasted oak becomes clearer and other aromas such as dark chocolate appear. The attack is round and enticing. Once in the mouth, the sensation of volume is considerable. It is dense and syrupy. The tannins are mature and well integrated. The fruit of the Grenache emerges strongly again and leaves the complexity of the oak in the background. Finally, a peak of acidity prevents the wine from being weighty and lengthens the warm feeling of well-being. Georg Breuer
2011 Charm Semi-Dry Reisling
Founded in 1880 by Peter Breuer, partner of the venerable German wine shipping firm scholl & hillebrand, Breuer was passed on to Peter’s son Georg and then to grandsons Bernhard and heinrich upon Georg's passing in 1978. the shipping firm was sold and Bernhard and heinrich used the 1980s and 90s to carefully expand the estate to its present 60 vineyard acres in the steepest, most well drained vineyards of the Rheingau communes of Rºdesheim and Rauenthal. an authority and author on Germany's wine regions and largely credited with restoring Riesling’s respectability in world markets, Bernhard Breuer worked tirelessly in defense of German viticulture integrity. since his death in 2004, heinrich Breuer and winemaker hermann schmoranz have admirably promoted these same ideals: all production follows a strict terroir-based hierarchy for the production of naturally dry wines made from healthy, physiologically-ripe Riesling grapes. Charm offers excellent value in regional Rheingau Riesling in the inimitable, elegant Breuer style. Breuer wines are characterized by their precision and balance of flavor extract and racy, aromatic elegance, achieved through disciplined harvesting and minuscule yields. Breuer Rieslings are age worthy wines of the highest order, widely acclaimed by the international trade and press.

"Shows touches of ripeness to the golden raisin and baked apple flavors. Mineral-infused finish hints at power. Some honeyed notes. Drink now through 2015. 750 cases made." WS

C. H. Berres Wehlener
Klosterberg Kabinett Riesling 2002
The Berres family is recorded to have resided and worked in the vineyards of úrzig since the year 1510. Markus Berres, 21st generation, has taken the helm of this prestigious Mittel Mosel estate beginning with the 2004 vintage, and is in the process of effecting one of the most significant renaissances in recent German wine history. Upon secularization of the Mosel by Napoleon, one of the first great private wine estates to be established was that of Peter Nicolay in úrzig, including the finest sites in úrzig, Erden, Wehlen, Graach and Zeltingen. Through marriage and inheritance Nicolay became C.H. (Carl Hubert) Berres, which continued to produce and market the estate’s great Rieslings under the Peter Nicolay brand until 1986, when the estate was divided upon inheritance. Carl Hubert’s grandson Alfred (father of Markus) retained nearly 10 acres of old, ungrafted Riesling vines in the best sites, including úrzig’s famous Wºrzgarten and legendary, minuscule Goldwingert, and Erden’s Treppchen. While fine wines continued to be made in the original Berres/Nicolay cellars, sales were limited to the local trade, with significant accumulation of great 1990s vintages in the Berres cellars as a result. úrzig and Erden are famous for their red slate soils and singular rock outcroppings that retain heat and concentrate the typical herb-spice of the wines. These are the only villages in the Mosel allowed to replant without grafting, as phylloxera was never able to penetrate the rock barriers.
